Car Overview
This 1971 Plymouth Duster was used by the original owner as a daily driver and drag racer before being placed into storage in the early 1970s. It remained in storage and with its original owner until it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024. Work in 2025 involved refurbishing the fuel and brake systems as well as cleaning the fuel tank and recoring the radiator. Finished in Bahama Yellow over black and silver vinyl, the car is powered by a 340ci V8 linked with a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Equipment includes Cragar wheels, drag racing tires, a reverse valve body, electronic ignition, front disc brakes, a Tuff steering wheel, aftermarket auxiliary gauges, front bucket seats, and a center console. This Duster is now offered with a paint-matched dual-axle trailer, broadcast sheets, drag racing time slips, an expired original title, removed original parts, and a clean Pennsylvania title for the car and the trailer.
The car is finished in Bahama Yellow and features a satin black hood, dual racing mirrors, hood pins, and black side and tail stripes. Sponsorship decals adorn the sides of the car.
Chrome-finished Cragar wheels are mounted with 7.75-15 Firestone tires up front and L60-15 M&H Racemaster tires out back. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The brake booster, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders were rebuilt in 2025. The tires are flat-spotted, and the power steering system was removed by the original owner. The components are not included.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl with silver inserts. Woodgrain trim accents the center console and instrument cluster. Appointments include a push-button AM radio, and lap seatbelts.
A Tuff steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator status. A Sun Super Tach and a Sun oil pressure gauge are mounted to the steering column, and a Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge is located beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, approximately two of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 340ci V8 was factory rated at 275 horsepower and is equipped with a four-barrel Thermo-Quad carburetor, which was rebuilt in 2025. Additional work performed in preparation for the sale involved removing the cylinder heads to free a stuck valve before reinstallation, recoring the radiator, and replacing the heater core. The fuel tank was cleaned and the sending unit was replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and an 8.75ā³ rear axle with a limited-slip differential. The transmission is modified with a reverse valve body, and the factory 3.91 rear gearing was replaced with 4.56 gears by the original owner.
