The options make all the difference in a car’s appeal, and this 1970 Challenger has plenty of optional equipment. This is one of 59 Hemi Challenger R/T SEs produced, of which only four were done for the Canadian market. It has also been treated to a professional restoration. Most importantly, the car hosts its Hemi engine with 425 HP on tap, dual 4-barrel carburetors, a high-flow exhaust system and premium cooling pieces. It was also optioned with the A727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and power steering and power brakes are here, too. Simply ordering a Hemi Challenger included heavy-duty frame and suspension pieces as part of the option.

The exterior is classic, painted in B5 blue with white longitudinal R/T stripes and a sport hood sans the blackout treatment. The SE option added the vinyl roof, as well as premium lighting and interior pieces. This car is complemented with hood pins, bumperettes, 426 Hemi hood tags, SE roof insignia, a flip-open gas filler, wide chrome rocker shields, and chrome tips emerging from the rear valance. The last touch are its 15-inch Rallye wheels and Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.

Inside, there are bucket seats with the six-way adjustable driver’s seat, center console, ball-knob Slap Stik shifter, wood-grain trim, the complete Rallye dash with clock and tachometer, bright pedal trim and driver’s side remote mirror. Other highlights include script Special Edition lettering spelled out on the trim above the glovebox, factory power windows and the Chrysler AM/8-track radio.

The original fender tag, broadcast sheet, and the Chrysler Registry visual inspection report are all included in this sale. In general, while various 1970 Challengers can be found, a Hemi R/T SE example that includes documentation should be considered an uncommon opportunity.
