Car Overview
This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S is one of 252 examples manufactured with a 383ci V8 in the coupe body style for the model year, of which 154 came with a four-speed manual transmission like this car. It was sold new by Gentheās of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and was owned by the same Michigan family from at least 1969 through 1995. Finished in Sable White over black vinyl upholstery on bench seats, the vehicle is equipped with a limited-slip differential, 14ā³ steel wheels, hubcaps, red-line tires, front disc brakes, a Hurst shifter, and an AM radio. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2025. This H-code notchback Barracuda is now offered in Texas at no reserve as part of the 2026 Gas Monkey Garage Collection with a reproduction window sticker, manufacturerās literature, expired registration slips, spare parts, and a clean Michigan title.

The car was finished from the factory in Sable White (W). Exterior details include Formula S fender badges, twin inset grilles, round side-marker lights, a driver-side mirror, black door-handle buttons, a flip-up fuel cap, rectangular dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers.

The hood has bright inserts with ā383 ā Sā markings. The seller notes chipped paint on the hood and damage to the trim around the driver-side front wheel well

Body-color 14ā³ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and are mounted with E70ā14 Firestone Wide Oval red-line tires. The car was optioned with the Formula S Package, which included a heavy-duty suspension with an anti-sway bar and Firm-Ride shock absorbers. Braking is handled by unassisted front discs and rear drums

The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in black vinyl, with the front seat offering a fold-down center armrest. Equipment includes a Hurst T-handle shifter, an AM radio, a glovebox, a heater, front and rear lap belts, a dome light, black carpeting, carpeted floor mats, and bright doorsill plates.
The steering wheel has a horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for alternator status, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 25 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 383ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. A dual exhaust system was fitted as part of the Formula S Package.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Sure Grip limited-slip differential.
