Stellantis is making a powerful move to improve EV charging access. Starting in early 2026, some of its battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) will support the North American Charging Standard (NACS), allowing owners to plug into more than 28,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America, Japan, and South Korea.

What’s Changing for EV Owners

  • The NACS adoption will roll out first in North America in early 2026, with Japan and South Korea following in 2027. Nasdaq+1
  • Initial models to benefit include the Jeep Wagoneer S and the Dodge Charger Daytona, with the 2026 Jeep Recon and newer BEVs to follow. PR Newswire
  • Stellantis has said more information — including adapter options for current BEVs — will come later. Nasdaq

Why This Matters

By integrating the NACS plug, Stellantis is giving its EV customers significantly more access to fast charging infrastructure. That helps reduce range anxiety and makes long-distance travel more viable. Chicago Star Media+1

It also signals a broader ā€œfreedom of choiceā€ strategy: instead of locking EV buyers into proprietary charging options, Stellantis is embracing a widely adopted standard — which could strengthen its competitive edge in the fast-evolving EV market. PR Newswire
