Peretti’s Classics Pushes Boundaries With Stunning Body-Swapped Builds

In a corner of the car world where creativity meets precision engineering, performance builders are redefining what it means to fuse classic looks with modern capability. At the forefront of this movement is Peretti’s Classics, a New York-based shop that’s turning heads with its bold body-swapped vehicles — blending iconic vintage muscle car aesthetics with the performance and reliability of present-day platforms.

Peretti’s Classics, led by builder Niko Peretti, specializes in taking the beloved shells of classic cars and mounting them onto contemporary chassis. The result? Vehicles that preserve the timeless visual appeal of the original while offering the power, handling, and comfort expected by today’s drivers.

Among the standout examples from the shop’s recent projects are a 1969 Super Bee body grafted onto a supercharged 2009 Dodge Challenger chassis with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1968 Dodge Charger perched on a 2018 Challenger Scat Pack platform. These builds showcase how far the concept has come — offering the look and presence of vintage machines with smooth modern drivability.

This type of project isn’t for the faint of heart. Achieving a successful body swap takes detailed planning, custom fabrication, and deep technical knowledge. It involves carefully stripping a classic car down to its body shell, reinforcing or modifying it as needed, and aligning it precisely with a modern donor undercarriage. Often, this includes reshaping structural components such as the firewall or floor pans to ensure a perfect union between old and new.

But for Peretti and his team, the challenge is part of the appeal. The goal is always to preserve the beloved exterior styling of the classic while seamlessly integrating modern suspension, braking systems, electronics, and drivetrains. The end result is a vehicle that turns heads for its nostalgic look and impresses with its performance capabilities.

Though the featured body-swap builds were still being finalized at the time of reporting, they had already generated significant attention on social media and among collectors. Given their craftsmanship and uniqueness, these builds are expected to command prices well into the six-figure range once they hit the market. And owners of Peretti’s Classics projects can expect more such builds to be released year after year as this niche trend continues to grow.
