Car Overview

The 1972 Plymouth Scamp was never meant to be subtle, but this one has been pushed far beyond its humble A-body beginnings. What started life as a lightweight Mopar cruiser has been completely reengineered into a pro-touring street brawler — blending classic muscle car attitude with modern performance hardware.

Finished in deep red with a black interior, this Scamp carries a presence that's both aggressive and clean. Sitting on 15-inch Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels, the stance alone tells you this isn't some stock grocery-getter from the early '70s.

Under the hood lives a built and modified 360 V8 that's been seriously upgraded with Edelbrock aluminum heads and Edelbrock Multi-Port Fuel Injection. The result is instant throttle response, modern reliability, and the kind of raw Mopar punch that makes lightweight A-bodies such a threat on the street.

Backing the small-block is a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, giving the driver full control over the powerband and turning this Scamp into a row-your-own muscle machine that begs to be driven hard.

The upgrades don't stop at the engine.

Power is managed with a Hydroboost power-assisted steering and braking system, delivering modern pedal feel and braking authority that older muscle cars rarely had.

Underneath, the suspension has been completely transformed with a QA1 coil-over setup and tubular front control arms, giving the car sharp turn-in and planted handling that feels worlds apart from factory A-body geometry.

When it's time to scrub speed, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes bring the car down fast and straight.

Out back, the car has been minitubbed to fit serious rubber and houses a Mopar 8¾ rear end with 4.10 Sure Grip gears, wrapped in 295/50R15 Cooper Cobra tires that give the car a brutal stance and the traction to actually use the power.

Visually, the car walks a perfect line between classic and custom. A '69 Valiant grille conversion sharpens the front-end look, while shaved side markers clean up the body lines for a smoother, more aggressive appearance without losing the car's vintage identity.

The end result is a lightweight Mopar street machine that blends old-school muscle with modern engineering — built to corner harder, stop faster, and hit the throttle with authority.

This isn't just a restored Scamp.

It's a fully reimagined A-body weapon.
