Car Overview
This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is one of 20 convertible examples produced for the model year with a 440ci V8 topped by a trio of Holley two-barrel carburetors and linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have been delivered new to Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, and it was stored for approximately 35 years before being acquired by the selling dealer from its second owner in early 2025. The vehicle has been repainted in black over black vinyl, and equipment includes a black convertible top, the A33 Track Pak, Rallye 15ā³ wheels, front bucket seats, a center console, a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, a ātic-tocā tachometer, and an AM radio. This Road Runner 440+6 is now offered in Saskatchewan, Canada, with an information board and British Columbia registration.
Finished from the factory in Ivy Green (F8), the car was repainted in black decades ago. Exterior features include a power-operated black convertible top, a black top boot, a driver-side mirror, Road Runner graphics, and dual exhaust outlets that exit below the rear bumper.
Rallye 15ā³ road wheels are mounted with Goodyear Polyglas tires measuring F70-15. Braking is provided by drums at all four corners. The brakes and the steering are unassisted.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that are trimmed in black vinyl and complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include a center console, a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, woodgrain trim, a Chrysler Solid State AM radio, front and rear seatbelts, and a heater.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a ātic-tocā tachometer with an inset clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 25 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 440ci V8 features an induction system consisting of three two-barrel carburetors for a factory rating of 390 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque.
