Leapmotor Introduces OTA Update for B10 with One Pedal Driving and Smarter Interface
Leapmotor has introduced a new over the air software update for its B10 electric SUV, bringing a series of new features that improve driving comfort, connectivity, and overall usability. The update reflects the brandās commitment to continuous software development, allowing owners to gain new capabilities without visiting a dealership.
The update arrives only about six months after the launch of the B10, showing how quickly Leapmotor is working to enhance the vehicleās technology and driving experience through software improvements.
For B10 owners, the new update introduces several practical upgrades that make the SUV more intuitive and enjoyable to drive.
One Pedal Driving Improves Efficiency and Control
One of the biggest additions in the update is the introduction of one pedal driving. This feature allows drivers to control both acceleration and deceleration primarily through the accelerator pedal.
When the driver lifts off the accelerator, the vehicle automatically slows down using regenerative braking. This system helps recover energy and send it back to the battery while also making driving smoother in stop and go traffic.
Many electric vehicles offer similar technology, and the addition of one pedal driving helps bring the B10 closer to the driving experience many EV owners expect today.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity
Connectivity also receives a major upgrade with native support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers can connect their smartphones either through a wired connection or wirelessly depending on compatibility.
This allows access to familiar apps such as navigation, music, messages, and phone calls directly through the vehicleās infotainment screen. By adding these widely used platforms, Leapmotor makes it easier for drivers to stay connected while on the road.
Voice command functions have also been expanded, allowing drivers to control more features through voice interaction.
Smarter Interface and Customization Options
The OTA update also introduces several improvements to the vehicleās interface and controls. Drivers can now customize steering wheel buttons with multifunction shortcuts that can activate driving modes or advanced driver assistance features.
Another new addition is a split screen navigation layout that displays navigation information alongside other apps, improving visibility when using multiple functions at the same time.
These interface improvements are designed to make the infotainment system easier to navigate while reducing distractions.
Faster Startup and Driving Assistance Improvements
Performance enhancements are also part of the update. The infotainment system now launches faster thanks to a new Quick Start feature that preloads key software functions when the vehicle powers on.
Leapmotor has also made refinements to the adaptive cruise control and lane centering systems. These adjustments allow smoother deceleration when approaching curves and help improve the overall driving experience on longer trips.
Other updates include improvements to the in cabin presence detection reminder, which helps ensure passengers or pets are not accidentally left inside the vehicle.
Software That Continues to Improve the Vehicle
The rollout of this update began in early February and is being deployed gradually to B10 owners. Drivers receive a notification directly in the vehicle when the update becomes available and can install it through the carās interface.
Over the air updates have become an important part of modern electric vehicles, allowing automakers to add features, improve performance, and fix issues without requiring a service appointment.
With this latest update, Leapmotor continues to show how software driven innovation can enhance the ownership experience. For B10 drivers, the SUV will keep evolving over time as new updates introduce additional features and improvements.
