Car Overview
This 1968 Dodge Dart 270 hardtop was refurbished from 2006 through 2010, when it was modified with a Mopar Performance 472ci Hemi V8 crate engine, which is linked to an ATI Performance 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission and a Strange Engineering limited-slip differential. The engine is complemented by an Indy intake manifold, a Williams carburetor, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, auxiliary electric cooling fans, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. Finished in red with a black scooped hood, the vehicle rides on Weld 15ā wheels with Mickey Thompson tires, and the rear wheel wells have been mini-tubbed. Chassis updates include Wilwood disc brakes as well as a Reilly MotorSports AlterKtion front assembly with rack-and-pinion steering and adjustable coilovers plus Calvert Racing mono-leaf rear springs and CalTracs traction bars. The cabin features bolstered black leather bucket seats, Vintage Air climate control, a roll bar, AutoMeter gauges, a Cheetah shifter, aluminum dashboard trim, tilt steering, and an aftermarket stereo. The seller purchased the car from its reported second owner in 2020. This modified Dart is now offered with build records, component literature, and a clean Louisiana title in the sellerās name.
The vehicle was repainted in red during the aforementioned refurbishment, according to the seller, who also states that the chrome front and rear bumpers were replaced and the black-accented grille was refurbished. The black hood has a wide single scoop and securing pins, and other equipment includes dual side mirrors, round side-marker lights, and reverse lights. The fuel door flips open to expose a battery-shutoff switch.
Weld Rodlite 15ā³ wheels are mounted with 28Ć7.5ā³ front and 295/55 rear Mickey Thompson tires; the rear wheel wells have been mini-tubbed. A Reilly MotorSports AlterKtion front assembly with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and adjustable coilovers has been adapted, while the live rear axle is supported by inboard-relocated Calvert Racing mono-leaf springs and Calvert CalTracs traction bars. Braking is handled by Wilwood discs and slotted rotors behind each wheel.
