Corey LaJoie Set to Drive Ram Truck at Darlington as Part of Kaulig Racing’s Free Agent Program

Veteran NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie is set to take the wheel of the No. 25 Ram 1500 for Kaulig Racing at the upcoming NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Darlington Raceway on March 20, 2026. LaJoie’s entry into the race comes through Ram’s innovative Free Agent Driver Program, an initiative that gives a variety of experienced and emerging racers the chance to compete in a top-tier truck without a full-time ride.

The Free Agent Driver Program was launched after Ram returned to NASCAR competition in 2026 following a 13-year absence. Instead of naming a single full-time driver for the No. 25 Ram truck, the program rotates drivers from week to week, allowing seasoned competitors and new talent alike to showcase their skills behind the wheel of competitive equipment. NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart kicked off the program earlier this season at Daytona International Speedway, and drivers such as Ty Dillon and Colin Braun have since taken turns in the seat.

LaJoie, a native of Concord, North Carolina, brings decades of racing experience to the effort. The son of two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Randy LaJoie, Corey has been a fixture in NASCAR for many years, making more than 270 starts in the Cup Series since his debut in 2014 and earning multiple top-10 finishes. He also has a strong background in stock car racing, including victories in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East early in his career.

In recent weeks LaJoie attempted to qualify for the Daytona 500 but was eliminated from the field after a late crash in the qualifying Duel race. Still, he remains active in multiple racing programs and is enthusiastic about joining Kaulig Racing and Ram for the Buckle Up South Carolina 200 at Darlington, a challenging track known as “The Track Too Tough to Tame.” Drivers must balance precision and strategy at the 1.366-mile oval, making it a landmark event on the Craftsman Truck Series schedule.

LaJoie’s addition to the Kaulig Racing lineup brings valuable veteran presence to a truck series team that is fielding several Ram entries throughout the 2026 season. Along with regular drivers such as Brenden Queen, Daniel Dye, Justin Haley, and Timothy “Mini” Tyrrell, LaJoie’s experience could help elevate the team’s performance at one of NASCAR’s most storied venues.

As the season progresses and the Free Agent Driver Program continues to unfold, fans and competitors alike will be watching to see how LaJoie and others perform behind the wheel of the No. 25 Ram truck, adding fresh excitement and unpredictable storylines to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
