Team Peugeot TotalEnergies completed a productive and encouraging FIA World Endurance Championship Prologue at Imola as the team continued preparations for the upcoming 6 Hours of Imola race weekend. The testing sessions gave the team valuable track time with the PEUGEOT 9X8 Hypercars while allowing engineers and drivers to gather important data under changing weather conditions.
The official FIA WEC Prologue took place at the famous Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola, Italy. Throughout the sessions, the team focused on refining the setup of both PEUGEOT 9X8 entries while evaluating the full range of Michelin Pilot Endurance tire compounds. The mixed weather conditions created additional opportunities for the team to test the cars in both wet and dry track situations.
Drivers Stoffel Vandoorne, Nick Cassidy, and Paul Di Resta piloted the No. 93 PEUGEOT 9X8, while Loïc Duval, Théo Pourchaire, and Malthe Jakobsen handled driving duties in the No. 94 entry. Together, both cars completed more than 2,000 kilometers during the Prologue, giving Team Peugeot TotalEnergies a strong foundation heading into race week.
The morning sessions began with wet track conditions and cooler temperatures, forcing teams to adapt quickly. As the circuit dried throughout the day, Peugeot transitioned from wet tires to slick compounds while continuing its structured testing program. The team later focused on long run simulations and tire management, which are critical factors in endurance racing.
One of the most positive signs for the team came from the No. 93 PEUGEOT 9X8, which recorded the fastest Sector 1 time among the Hypercar competitors during testing. Team officials also confirmed that the Prologue was completed without major technical issues, allowing engineers to collect extensive performance data ahead of the race weekend.
The 2026 FIA WEC season marks another important chapter for Peugeot as the manufacturer continues developing the PEUGEOT 9X8 Hypercar program. This season also features updated driver lineups and a new red, white, and black “Spirit Peugeot GTi” livery that debuted ahead of the Imola event.
Fans and motorsports enthusiasts have been closely following the Prologue discussions online, with many in the endurance racing community eager to see how Peugeot performs against the growing Hypercar field this season. Conversations across racing forums and social media have highlighted the competitive nature of the upcoming Imola event and the importance of preseason testing data.
With the Prologue now complete, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies will shift its focus toward maximizing performance during the official practice sessions and preparing for the highly anticipated 6 Hours of Imola.
