DS Automobiles Scores Solid Top-10 Finishes in Jeddah E-Prix for Formula E Season

French premium marque DS Automobiles continued its participation in the 2025-26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship this weekend at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia. Despite not reaching the podium, both of the team’s drivers delivered double-digit finishes in a challenging double-header weekend of electric-single-seater racing.

The two rounds marked the fifth race weekend of the season, drawing teams and drivers to Jeddah for back-to-back races under night conditions — a test of speed, strategy and energy management on one of Formula E’s most tactical circuits.

Competitive Runs in Tough Conditions

Driver Maximilian Günther, who is contracted with the DS PENSKE squad, had high hopes following his strong qualifying performance — including a sixth-place start — but the tactical nature of the races made forward progression difficult. After losing positions early, Günther pushed from mid-pack to finish 11th in both races, just outside the points.

Fellow driver Taylor Barnard faced his own challenges during qualifying with tire performance issues, yet he still managed to advance through the field to finish 10th on both race days, earning one point in each E-Prix.

Despite the distance from the podium, both drivers and the team expressed confidence in the competitiveness of their DS E-TENSE FE25 cars and are looking ahead to the next rounds — including the Madrid E-Prix scheduled for March 21, 2026.

Looking Ahead in Formula E

DS Automobiles’ involvement in Formula E reflects its commitment to electric performance and technological innovation. The brand has a notable history in the series, with multiple victories and championship titles, and continues to use its racing program as a platform for refining electric powertrain strategies that echo its road-going electrified models.

This Jeddah weekend, while not yielding high scores, still provided valuable data and experience for the DS team as they aim to climb the standings later in the season. Each double-header offers a chance to adapt strategy and extract performance in a championship where tight margins often decide results.
